During an interview. Lucasfilm’s CG supervisor Joel Aron revealed Filoni’s philosophy for telling stories in theStar Warsuniverse. Aron’s comment about Filoni’s work on theClone Warsanimated series proves why he is arguably the best candidate to shape the franchise’s future.

During an interview published in Star Wars Insider MagazineIssue #120, Aron spoke very highly of his collaboration with Filoni, praising the showrunner for his approach to storytelling.

Aron made the above statement, underlining the process he followed while working with Filoni. He revealed that the two would often brainstorm about certain scenes in the former’s office.

However, by the time their brainstorming session ended, Aron would have a challenging idea at hand to execute. Hence, from Aron’s words, it is evident that Filoni’s simple philosophy was to give his collaborators creative freedom to bring out the best in them.

However, theStar Warsfranchise overall has seen a steep decline in quality in recent times. Part of the problem has been Lucasfilm’s agenda-driven approach to storytelling and overall influence on the filmmakers, which most likely affects their vision, and ultimately the final product.

In contrast, Filoni’s approach of providing creative freedom to his collaborators could work wonders for the franchise. Therefore, Filoni is an ideal candidate to lead Lucasfilm, taking a position similar to that of Kevin Feige, who built the vastly successful MCU.
