Helmed byMichael Bay,Ambulancewas a remake of a Danish film. The actress played a significant role since the brothers had captured her ambulance to get away after the heist. There was one particular scene that stood out, though.
As the high-speed chase played out, the paramedic had to perform abdominal surgery at the back of the van. This particular scene was initially left out of the film, and Gonzalez revealed that she had to fight with the director to keep the scene.
“At one point they completely cut it out of the movie – when I saw a cut [with the scene not in], I called Michael and I said, ‘You can’t cut that scene of the movie’. And he’s like, ‘Why? It just doesn’t work,'”she revealed (via Digital Spy).

Eiza Gonzalez reasoned that the scene was crucial to her character since it gave an insight into why she was the way she was. This move eventually paid off for Gonzalez and Bay, since critics singled out the scene to heap praise.

Hollywood has had a long problem with stereotypes, especially when it comes to women. It can be very easy to get typecast as well, which is why Gonzalez does not get carried away by compliments about her looks.
The actress recently opened up about thechallenges she has had to overcome to book rolesas a Latina. It was greatly disappointing for her since none of her white friends or colleagues had to endure that.
“I just think it’s an overly sexualized idea of a Latin woman. It’s so disappointing and it’s so pathetic,”she said, during an interview withInStylemagazine.
Eiza Gonzalez has done what she can to break free of the notion that she is only an attractive face. She has steadily climbed up the ladder and will star in the3 Body Problemnext.
