In the case of Lily Gladstone, a well-known actress who uses she/they pronouns, her high school sweetheart gave her something years ago and asked her to wear it if she ever attended the Oscars. It looks like this adorable wish might finally come true. Her then-boyfriend gave the 37-year-old a sentimental gift during her high school years, telling her she“had to wear them to the Academy Awards when you go one year”.

It all started duringLily Gladstone’s high school days when her then-boyfriend, probably in a flurry of teenage infatuation, handed her a gift that appeared to be quite distinctive. According to the actress, he had stated that it was intended for her whenever she walked the red carpet at the Oscars, although such a notion seemed far-fetched back then.
In conversation withPEOPLE, theKillers of the Flower Moonactress recalled:
“He had gotten these little star glasses, like these little tiny kids’ glasses with stars on them,” recalls Gladstone. He said, ‘You have to keep these and you have to wear them to the Academy Awards when you go one year’.”
This most likely guaranteed her an Oscar invitation. The epic true-crime drama directed byMartin Scorsesehas generated a lot of Oscar buzz and excellent reviews since its May Cannes Film Festival debut.According to Gladstone, of those glasses given by her ex:

“I still have them. If I end up going this year, I’ll dig them out and I’ll keep them in my purse at least.”
