The new content update coming toGran Turismo 7was just unveiled at the Gran Turismo World Series event in Montreal. Besides various content upgrades, Sony’s racing game will receive a new track and half a dozen new cars.
The update will be free for everybody who owns the title, yet many players are underwhelmed. The new cars skidding into the game have left many wanting more.
Gran Turismo 7 Is Getting a Free Update
Polyphony Digital’s two-year-old title in the long-runningGran Turismoseries is still receiving regular content updates. The next one races onto players’ screens on July 25. Update 1.49 will bring a new circuit, six new cars, and a bevy of content.

Soon, players can race on the Eiger Nordwand circuit, a fictional track set in Switzerland that first appeared inGran Turismo HD Concepton the PlayStation 3.

Players can get behind the wheels of various new cars, including the 2007 Ferrari 430 Scuderia, the 1997 BMW M3 (E36), the 2008 Lamborghini Gallardo LP560-4, the Genesis X Gran Racer Vision Gran Turismo Concept, the 1998 Subaru Impreza WRC, and the 2016 RUF RGT 4.2.
Upgraded car physics, new Michelin tires, and a new wheel brand will also be introduced. Furthermore, the PS5-exclusive racing AI agent Gran Turismo Sophy will be compatible with two additional tracks.
Many Players Are Not Impressed
While some players expressed their excitement in the comments on X, others shared their disappointment. The new cars don’t seem to be what many had hoped for.
A M3 again? And why aren’t we getting cars we want!!! I like the track and physics and new rims even tho they also look expensive, and care to explain the date? 3 weeks to wait for this update? Why show it now?
Many seem to agree thatGran Turismo 7should add newer cars instead of picking models that are decades old.
Decent update, but it would be nice to see new cars instead of older ones :/ SO many newer cars missing from GT completely.
SinceGran Turismo 7is a racing simulator, some players are disappointed the update isn’t introducing more race cars, such as the LMDh models.
And now dear Santa, please more race cars (Formula GT modern variant, or LMH/LMDh and latest GT3) and Silverstone that would be great 🙏
Several users on X call for more American constructors to make their way into the game, such as Ford Mustang or Chevrolet Corvette models.

Despite some fans’ disappointment, a roster of six cars is one of the biggest content updates the newest installment in the series has received since launching in 2022.

Many players are still excited about the update and the content it will add to the game. Especially the return of the Eiger Nordwand track has many excited.
TheGran Turismo 7update brings a dose of nostalgia for those whohave been playing the PlayStation classic since its early days. The new track as well as two of the cars first appeared during the PlayStation 3 era of the series and have been revamped for the modern console.
