During the release ofSpider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse,the directors of the film, Joaquim Dos Santos, Kemp Powers, and Justin K. Thompson, gave an interview withCollider.Here they spoke on various subjects surrounding the highly-anticipated film. When asked about what they could tell the world aboutSpider-Man: Beyond the Spider-Verse,it would seem that Dos Santos had an answer ready.
“We are in the process of being so thankful that we survived making this one, that’s where we’re at.”said Dos Santos.

He started by joking that those who were involved in the film were simply happy to have survived making it in the first place, let alone thinking about the third part of the movie series. It is safe to say that the making of theOscar Isaacfilm would have required an ample amount of effort from everyone and would have exhausted them to their very core.
A Break Was A Requirement
Joaquim Dos Santos, Kemp Powers, and Justin K. Thompson then went on to talk about the transition fromSpider-Man: Across the Spider-VersetoSpider-Man: Beyond the Spider-Verse.These two films have become closely linked in the eyes of the fans as the moment the climax begins to build in the secondSpider-Versefilm, it ends, to be continued in the movie that will follow.
Such a cliffhanger has made the fans turn to the creators of the film with questions about when the next movie will come out. During the interview, Powers spoke on this, revealing that when they were done making the second film, they had their priorities straight.

“I mean, obviously, when we conceptualized it, we broke the story for both of these films, but obviously, this came down to the wire, and I think the immediate priority is to get a little bit of a break for folks.”said Powers

They did not focus on getting the next film out as soon as possible, wanting to give their cast and crew a break first. There have been no reports that Marvel Studios follows a similar practice.
