Call of Duty: Warzone
What Is The NVG Gulag Event?
First off, in case you’re a brand new player and don’t know what the Gulag even is: it’s a way for players who have been killed in a match of Warzone toearn their way back into the game.
Once you are killed, you are taken to the prison, where you wait to take part in a 1v1 duel with another player. Whoever wins that duel - by killing the other person or extracting with the zipline that spawns -will be dropped back into the Warzone match. Now, some of you may also be wondering what NVG even stands for, which is also important. It means Night Vision Goggles, which can clue you into the event and what you can expect from it.

Essentially, how this public event works is that occasionally (Activision claims this will be a rare occurrence), the lights in the Gulag will go out, and all power will be lost. This will cause you to have touse your night vision gogglesto navigate your duels. The duels themselves will still operate the same way with the same objectives involved. However, the use of total darkness can change the way you will be able tonavigate these fights.
You see, now that the lights are out, you may take a much more stealthy approachto the duel. Yes, your night vision goggles will allow you to see, but their vision is nowhere near as good as it would be without them. So you have a better shot of sticking to the corners or outskirtsof the arena and picking off your opponent before they even know you’re there. You can also use this stealth to your advantage byhiding until the zipline spawnsand thenmaking a run for it to win. Despite not changing the fundamentals of the Gulag and how it works, the NVG public event is going tooffer a nice change of paceto a mechanic that has been around since the game was first released a few years ago.
