Sniping inCall of Duty: Modern Warfare 2andWarzone 2feels incredibly satisfying when landing those one-hit kills. With the new Ground War and Invasion game modes, it’s been a blast lining up shots on big maps and racking up kills from the non-stop action - but the long-range Sniper meta for Warzone 2 is entirely different from that of regular Multiplayer.

Each sniper has subtle differences to them, and players looking toimprove their rankwould be well-equipped to know ahead of time which ones to focus on leveling up. Some snipers perform better for quick scoping and some are better in classic long-range combat. We’ve discovered the best snipers in the game and found out their best use cases too. We’ll keep this list up to date whenever any changes are made to the game so be sure to save this post and check back periodically.

Warzone 2 and MW2 Sniper Ranking Criteria
Since most Snipers have the potential to down armored opponents in as little as two shots, we will instead focus on Damage Range as the top factor. The ranking criteria are as follows:

The number one spot for the best Sniper to use in Warzone 2 has to be theVictus XMR. Thedamage-per-shot of the Victus XMR is the highestamong all the Sniper Rifles. Although the bullet velocity of this gun remains consistent with other weapons of its category, the range of the Victus XMR is by far the greatest. The biggest downside of the Victus XMR is its slow ADS and sprint-to-fire speeds, but you may easily build this gun to improve both attributes.

TheMCPR-300is the Sniper Rifle unlocked by default and is by no means a bad Sniper. In fact, it falls just before the Victus XMR in most stat categories. The MCRP-300 has thethird-best level of recoil control and the second-best level of damage. This Sniper Rifle also has the largest magazine out of all the weapons in its category, and although this does contribute to its low mobility and handling, you will not need to reload as often as you would with other guns.

Great Snipers for Warzone 2 / MW2
FJX Imperium

TheFJX Imperiumsports the greatest level of range for the Sniper Rifle category, but falls behind both the MCPR-300 and the Victus XMR in terms of damage per shot. The advantage the FJX Imperium has over the latter two options, however, is its aim-down-sight speed. Therefore, if you want a weapon that still performs well for long-distance sniping, but is slightly faster than the heavier weapons, then this Sniper is a considerable choice.

TheSP-X-80is the king of close-range Sniping. It’s very light and mobile with its fast ADS time, and possesses a slightly faster fire rate than the other Snipers (except for the Signal 50, which is better for long-range fights anyway). You’ll see lots of kill potential with this gun, and it is most definitely the best choice for Multiplayer. However, though this Sniper is fast and deadly, it does not perform as well as the previous options from considerable distances - which is important for the larger maps of Warzone 2.
Good Snipers in Warzone 2 / MW2
Carrack .300

TheCarrack .300is the second semi-auto Sniper in Modern Warfare 2, and was added for the Season 5 update. Although the Carrack .300 has thefastest fire rate of all Snipers, its accuracy and range are quite low compared to all bolt-action options. This weapon is best compared to the Signal 50, which is the only other semi-auto option available. However, the Carrack .300 is arguably the better of the two, as it possesses superior damage, fire rate, range, accuracy, mobility, and handling.

TheSignal 50is the first semi-automatic Sniper Rifle in Modern Warfare 2 and thus hasthe highest fire rate.While its aim-down-sight and reload speed are the slowest, you’ll still be able to pick off a lot of targets quickly at any range. It has a slightly higher damage profile for the limbs and lower torso for really long shots than other weapons, but falls behind the Victus XMR by a narrow margin. The Signal-50 also has a slower bullet velocity, meaning some adjustments will need to be made to account for the bullet drop at a distance.
Worst Sniper in Warzone 2 / MW2

Saying that theLA-B 330is the worst really doesn’t do it justice, but somebody has to be. We really feel like it’sbasically the younger sibling to the SP-X 80. It’s a good lightweight sniper and is going to perform well in quick-scoping situations, but once you’ve unlocked the SP-X 80 you’ll want to make the switch - as it is ever so slightly outclassed in handling, damage range, and fire rate.
