Another video game is making the jump to the tabletop, as aVampire Survivorsboard game is coming to Kickstarter this year, with the aim of somehow adapting one of the most frantic and busy experiences of all timeinto cardboard and plastic.
Vampire Survivors can be a tricky game to follow, especially for a newbie. The aim of each stage is to survive as long as possible, with ever-growing hordes of enemies constantly closing in on the player, including elite enemies that take far more punishment to bring down. The player needs to balance killing foes to level up and gain upgrades with avoiding damage, leading to a beautiful gameplay balance thatmany others have copied.

The world of Vampire Survivors is going to be making its way into another medium, as developerPonclehas announced that a Kickstarter for a board game adaptation is coming in the Autumn. Fans can pre-register their interest on the board game’s official website.
How Would A Vampire Survivors Board Game Even Work?
The Vampire Survivors board game is being developed by Grey Fox Studios, the same team behind theMetal Gear Solidtabletop game. These are two very different experiences, however, with one involving slow, stealth-based gameplay, and the other involving survival against countless foes.
According to the information available about the game, Vampire Survivors will be aco-op 2-4 player experience, with deckbuilding and evolving weapons, with the intention of each session being 45 minutes long.

How the board game will emulate the experience of being attacked by tons of enemies remains to be seen, but it could involve the 140 punchboard tokens that come in the game. This suggests a ton of setup and even more tidying up afterward.
The Kickstarter isn’t live yet, but fans should expect a pricy buy-in cost, based on how expensiveother video game board gameshave been. There are a lot of questions about the project, and fans will have to wait until later on in the year to learn more.
