“Obviously we’re working on the sixth chapter, but what’s great about The Elder Scrolls is being able to look back at all of the chapters–Skyrim, Oblivion, Morrowind, Daggerfall, Arena. Each of them try to define role-playing games and open-world games for their generation.”

A few months ago, a user onRedditpointed out that the time between The Elder Scrolls VI announcement until now has been longer than the time between the release of The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim and the announcement of The Elder Scrolls VI. That’s quite… a milestone!

The Long Wait For The Elder Scrolls VI Continues

Todd Howard himself has mentioned in the past that he was unsure whether announcing The Elder Scrolls VI so early was the right thing to do.

During the Activision Blizzard acquisition lawsuit, a Microsoft document mentioned that The Elder Scrolls VI was planned to skipPS5and be released as a PC andXboxexclusive titlesometime after 2026.

However, with the recent shift in Microsoft’s strategies, it is likely that The Elder Scrolls VI will launch on PS5 at some point, possibly even on the same day as its launch.

Either way, The Elder Scrolls VI is probably years away and fans should patiently wait for a long development process to be over, hopefully by the end of this generation of consoles.

In the meantime, you can enjoy playing the remastered version of a cult-classic RPG game from this franchise, which has not been immune to Bethesda’s geedy policies. At least you canenjoy unlocking achievements and trophiesthis time around!
