Tite Kubo’sBleachis one of the longest-running series ever. With almost 700 chapters, the manga series began in 2001 and went on for 15 years, finally reaching its conclusion in 2016. And within that time period, the series saw a lot of success and was appreciated by the anime and the manga community. However, that was never Kubo’s plan with theBleachstoryline.

Kubo is one of the most complex manga writers in the industry. His works express his intelligence and his creativity but he never believed that it would go for such a long period of time. In fact, Kubo wanted to work on other projects after completingBleachas soon as possible. But he got so involved inBleach’sstoryline that he couldn’t just let go.
One of the main aspects that led to Kubo continuing theBleachmanga series was the “death” of a certain character which made the plot even more intriguing. This character is none other than Sosuke Aizen, one of the most popularBleachcharacters, who was sealed away after the Fake Karakura Town arc.

Tite Kubo’s Original Plan WithBleach
In a special interview conducted for the third box set ofBleachmanga, which was later shared byu/insertnamehere—-on Reddit, Kubo was asked about his thoughts regardingBleach’slong serialization. The mangaka pointed out that he never imagined he would have stuck to a single manga series for so long.

Kubo stated:
I thought I would be a couple more series down the line! Like a series after the series after Bleach! My first editor said that the goal at Jump is to reach thirty graphic novels, but thirty volumes is about six years. That editor had always said I was the type to lose interest easily, so it probably wouldn’t last six years, with even three years being a stretch. I even agreed with him that I would probably get bored with it in about three years.
Kubo thought that he would have worked on many other stories that would have helped him with his career as a manga creator. In fact, even his editor believed that Kubo was the type of guy who would lose interest in his own work and thus probably end the series soon.

The mangaka even pointed out that he even planned the story in a way that would lead to itsconclusion within three years. Plus, there were breaks that would have made him get out ofBleach’splot completely.
The Character’s Death That Made Tite Kubo ContinueBleach
Further talking about the long serialization of theBleachmanga, Kubo explained that all of his plans flopped in a major way because he started having fun. He found the various aspects of the story quite intriguing and wanted to work on it for as long as possible. Among these different aspects, the most important one was probably Sosuke Aizen’s fake death in the series.
Tite Kuboexclusively points out that“Early on when Aizen appears to die.”he felt like the story could be made even more interesting. At the beginning of the manga, Aizen faked his death with the help of Gin and then went on to become one of the coolest and most dangerous villains in the history ofBleach.

Tite Kubo Must Finish This Endless Bleach Debate- Who is the Strongest Espada?
Kubo got so enticed by Aizen’s character that he did not let him die at all. When he fought the protagonist Ichigo Kurosaki, he was defeated and ideally should have died, but Kubo decided to seal him instead of killing him as he hadbig plans for Aizen in the future. And fans will probably see these plans unfold in theBleach: Thousand-Year Blood Waranime.
Bleachis available to watch on Hulu.
