Brewster called her admission a“con job”as she had just used it as a ruse to come one step closer to Hollywood. After a year of staying in school, the actress went around apologizing to her teachers and then swiftly dropped out.

I just wanted to act so I went around and apologized to all of my teachers … I said, ‘This is just a con job, I just wanted to live in New York City so I got into an art college,’ and I dropped out.

Honestly, queen behavior! What followed was a long journey of auditions and taking up jobs here and there to support herself. She worked as a bartender, waitress, and more for a total of seven years before she landed her first role.

A few months back, Brewster joinedCBRfor an interview where she talked about playing Emily Prentiss. Despite the fact that she has been playing the character for quite a while now, she still loves it as much as she did on day one.

She recalled that when she leftCriminal Mindsin between to do other projects, people would come up to her and ask her why. Eventually, she started questioning her decision and just like that, Emily was back!

After four years, I was like, God, why aren’t I on Criminal Minds? And so I called them up and said, Is there a way that you can use me as a guest star for a few episodes? I didn’t want to upset the apple cart. The show was doing great. And then they ended up asking me to come back and join full time, and I was happy to. It’s really just been lucky for me.

Clearly, Brewster is happy with her decision to return and it doesn’t look like she’ll be saying goodbye to her character anytime soon. Not that we are complaining!
