Screenbound, an upcoming indie game onSteam, is gaining attention for its unique premise. The developers describe it as “a game that’s all about being distracted,” as players have to simultaneously play in both 2D and 3D. 5D, if you will.
Developed and published by Crescent Moon Games and Those Dang Games, Screenbound is “a game about being distracted, but totally in control,” according to thegame’s Steam page. While there’s no firm release date as of writing, fans who like the look of Screenbound can add it to their Steam wishlist now, ready for release!

‘Overwhelmingly Positive’ Steam Game Called Out For Allegedly Paying Players For Reviews
The developers are allegedly offering players in-game rewards for leaving a positive review, which goes against Steam’s ToS.
This unique concept requires players to simultaneously play in both 2D and 3D at the same time, which has caught the attention of quite a few gamers online.

Screenbound Looks Harder Than Elden Ring, And I Want It
Screenbound looks unlike anything I’ve ever seen before. You’re equipped with a handheld game device known as the Quantum Boy, or Qboy for short, which transports you into a “weird dual-dimensional space that occupies 5D.” If, like me, you’re not good at maths, that’s 2D and 3D added together.
The developers say Screenbound is a platformer “unlike any other,” as you move in first-person view at the same time while playing in 2D on the screen of your Quantum Boy. But if that wasn’t already trippy enough, this weird 5D world is filled with mind-bending environmental puzzles that will push you to your limits.

According to the game’s Steam page, your jumping and movements mirror each other, but certain things (who knows what those things are) only affect the opposite dimension. While all of the combat appears in 2D on your Qboy, you receive your loot in the 3D part of the game.
As for the game’s storyline, the Qboy that transports you into this weird dimension was created by your mom and stashed inside of the garage. After you stumble upon it, you begin to realise that there are other dark secrets to find.
The fun doesn’t stop there either, because Screenbound will also be releasing with a level editor in the traditional 2D style, while the 3D part of the world will automatically generate around your 2D design. Unlimited possibilities!
