Get out your monocle and pipe because this quest is all about catching a serial killer.Carnal Sinsis a quest inThe Witcher 3that comes toward the end of your time in Novigrad. This quest becomes available after going to the party Dandelion throws to celebrate his business opening in Novigrad. He is wondering where Priscilla is and is interrupted by a man bursting in, saying that she has been attacked.

Priscilla isn’t the first person to fall by someone of this M.O. She has been forced to swallow a caustic liquid that could destroy her voice. Dandelion wants this man brought to justice, and he asks if you will severely hurt the person who did it. Not exactly Witcher work but Geralt never turns down a friend. You are tasked with finding who did this to her and bringing him tojustice.
Dandelion and Geralt head to the hospital to see how Priscilla is doing. It turns out she is not doing well, but she is alive, which is saying something considering how the other victims ended up. Her doctorJoachim von Gratzsays that she is in a terrible state but will live, but the damage to her voice could be permanent. She has not been the only person harmed in this way, and Joachim suggests you go to the morgue andexamine the previous victim’s corpseand even offers to come with you.
Examine Previous Victim
Follow von Gratz into the sewer so that you can sneak into the morgue. Kill a few Drowners and a Water Hag that live there until eventually arriving at the morgue. Search for a dwarven man and get to examining the victim. You are eventually interrupted by the coronerHubert Rejk. He and Joachim have some history that makes things a bit uncomfortable as their obvious disdain shows. In the end, a man named Reverend Nathaniel catches you and insists you leave.Joachim leaves to get back to Priscilla while you follow up on more clues.
Speak With Eustace
Eustace the corpse collectorcan be found collecting corpses in Novigrad. He seems to be more of a scavenger as he tells you what it’s like in a day of his life. He mentions he also always checks the corpse’s pockets and that he doesn’t really feel all that fussed about it. You can bribe him or useAxii (Delusion level 2)to loosen his tongue and get some information out of this scavenger. If you convince him to help you, he will then mention a note naming Priscilla as the next victim. Instead of bringing this information forward,he held on to it to resell after he washed the parchment of human skinit was written on. You are given the choice here to hit him or just walk away and imagine what it would have been like to hit him.
Woodcarver’s Murder Site
Go to the quest marker and knock on the door. A voice will interrogate you until you reveal you are investigating the murder. He will open the door for you and reveal that he is the brother of the victim being understandably cautious. You can find apyre of wood statues, some blood, and a Concerned Citizen Sermon. While examining the inside of the workshop, Geralt will mention that some blood stains may have been cleaned, and you find formaldehyde, which is unlikely to be the woodcarvers.
Investigate The Site Of Priscilla’s Attack
When you arrive, you will see a prostitute by the name ofWhistling Wendy. She will saunter away when you get near her and appears to be leaving the area. She is actually setting a trap for the killer, and you fall right into it. The gate closes, and you are forced to fistfight off her brothers. After beating them up, she will tell you her story, and you can search the area for more clues. You find another Sermon and more formaldehyde.
Talk To The Coroner
A new body has been found, and the coroner is waiting for you to do the autopsy. You can ask him some questions first to get some pretty important contextual details on some of the major players here, namely his and Joachim’s past and how they know each other. Eventually, you find the human skin note just like on all the other victimswith the name of the next victim on it. This name should look familiar if you helped Triss out in the questA Matter Of Life And Death
Patrica Vegelbud signed, a concerned citizen.
When you arrive, talk to the guard at the main gate andask to see Patrica Vegelbud. The guard will take you toIngrid, her daughter. You tell her that her mother has been marked as the serial killer’s next victim and ask to see her mother right away. There is a giant fire out front and Ingrid tells you her mother is having a crisis of faith in the Eternal Fire.
You go up to check up on her and eventually hear Ingrid scream. You rush in and find Patrica’s body tied to the bed and a glimpse of the killer running away. Chase him while ignoring the dogs, fight the guards or let them wail on you a bit to trigger the cut scene. When one of them gets low health, or you die, the cut scene will start.You are taken captive shortly before Ingrid vouches for you, and you search her mother for the note containing the next victim as well as any other clues you can find.
Crippled Kate’s
Enter the brothel and ask whereSweet Nettieis. Promptly ignore the man’s request to not disturb her and go disturb her. Enter the room and find her tied and gagged byReverend Nathaniel, who is holding a hot poker. Hear him out and accuse him of the murders, and he will tell you that he didn’t do it and that he simply enjoys torturing women, but he never kills them. Further interrogation reveals that only one man knew what he’d be doing but more importantly where he would be, and he that man is at the docks picking upshipments of formaldehyde. After talking and clearing his name, you’re able to stillchoose to kill him and save Sweet Nettie from a hot poker.
The Warehouse
At the warehouse, you confront the real killer,Hubert, who confesses to you that he is a Higher Vampire. His motive is that he agrees with The Eternal Fire’s ideals that the city is beyond saving and that the scum needs to be purged. You can ask him some questions to learn more about his motive, but either way, you will need to draw your silver sword and stop this serial killer before he hurts anyone else.
He will transform and fight you as his highest vampire self.Vampire oil can help with some additional damage as well as Quen for shielding against his attacks, he is weak to Igni so burn him, and Aard staggers him to get some cheap blows in. He will occasionally turn invisible but just hit him with Igni or Aard to break it.
