We know thatReady At Dawnis hard at work ona AAAgame. While we don’t know for sure what that game is, a new rumor points to it being a sequel toThe Order: 1886. Even crazier – it may be coming to both of the major next gen consoles, the PS5 and Xbox Series X.

Thesupposed leak comes from NeoGAF, via a forum member who has somewhat of a credible reputation. For example, the NeoGAF leaks managed to correctly pinpoint early details about the PS4 Pro months before it had its official reveal in September 2016. Evenstillwe have no way of confirming that the NeoGAF user’s post so make sure to take the rumor with a massive grain of

For a bit of backstory,The Order: 1886is a PS4 exclusivefrom Ready at Dawn, the team that was previously most known for their excellent PSPGod of Wartitles such asGod of War: Chains of Olympus. The Order: 1886is an alternative history game set in London. Players control Galahad, a skilled member of the Knights of The Order, in their quest to hunt down werewolves that combat the steampunk society. The game blended real-life historical figures and events with fictional takes on popular myths and legends.

Whilethe game was metwith a divisive reception (due to notably short run time for a $60 game),it was clear thatthere was potential inThe Order: 1886thata sequelcould possiblyimprove and build upon. The game has since gained a cult following that has been asking for a revitalization of the series.

In a cryptic post at NeoGAF, forum posterBlackOsirisspoke of a trailer that seemed to point toThe Order: 1886. In the alleged gameplay trailer, a man with a shoulder-mounted light device surveys a dimly lit room and fires on and retreats from a yellow-eyed, many armedcreature. The monster taunts the man from behind a door with the words, “I have found you” before the game’s title appears on the screen before the trailer ends. Hegoes on to saythe man is highly recognizable and impossible to confuse with anyone else and that revealing what the man was wearing would be a dead giveaway.

BlackOsiriswas also ambiguousas towhich platform this leaked trailer was shown on, leading many to believe thatThe Ordersequel will be available on both the PS5 and Xbox Series X. Anything announced in 2020 (or later) would likely be considered coming to next gen, though this doesn’t mean counting out current gen consoles as well. However, that news is highly speculative at best – especially because it is reported that Ready at Dawndoesn’t ownThe Order 1886IP. However, that doesn’t count out the possibility of a spiritual successor – similar to FromSoftware moving from PS3-exclusiveDemon’s Soulsto a multiplatformDark Souls.

Additionally, the leaker praised the game’s character models and lighting physics stating it was “on another level.” He also mentioned that it was impossible to tell the difference between gameplay andcutscenes. Rumors aside, here’s hoping Ready at Dawn continues looking into that game’s universe a bit more for future games. As mentioned above,The Order: 1886is available now exclusively on PS4.
