The Legend of Zelda: Link’s Awakeningarrived on the Nintendo Switch just a few days ago on Friday, September 20. I think it’s safe to say that fans of the franchise, and newcomers, spent their entire weekend lost inside the beautiful nostalgic world of Koholint Island. With the game’s launch still as fresh as a Wild fish’s dream, this is the perfect time to showcase some of the amazingly talented artists that surround not only the gaming world, but also the artistic world and there’s nothing more special than when both of those worlds collide.
Before we jump into this 3D Print of Koholint Island, some readers may not have played this game yet so they’ll have no clue what they’re looking at. Unlike mostThe Legend of Zeldatitles,Link’s Awakeningis set outside the kingdom of Hyrule so this time, we see Link on Koholint Island, the illusory land on which the entirety of the events ofLink’s Awakeningtakes place. Since Link has been washed up on its shores, his quest now is to slay the monsters that have overrun the island and who have prevented the Wind Fish from waking up in order to take over its dream world.

Taking inspiration from this game, Jukka Seppänen onMyMiniFactoryshares how they went about creating the iconic Koholint Island through the medium of 3D printing. Jukka goes into great detail on how they crafted this incredible piece of artwork all the way from materials used and 3D views of each individual part they used to construct their masterpiece. Jukka even went to the great lengths of putting together a 3D print timelapse video on the building of Koholint Island which you can watch at the end of this article.
If you’ve ever wanted to manufacture your very own part ofZeldahistory, now is the time.
