The Last of Ussoundtrack is one of the most iconic musical compositions in the gaming world. As soon as you hearGustavo Santaolalla start to pluck the ronroco, you’re instantly transported to the infected, tense, and post-apocalyptic world that isThe Last of Us. Another edgy and unforgiving world is that ofA Plague Tale: Innocencewith its disease-ridden rats and Black Death outbreak so when those two worlds collide in a fan-made trailer, you can expect it to be a pretty amazing watch.

YouTuberUSNIM, who takes well-known video games and mashes them up with another popular game or soundtrack, has created their very own version ofA Plague Tale: Innocencetrailer accompanied byThe Last of Usmusic. The tense and eerie sound that we all associate withThe Last of Ustransports so well intoA Plague Talegiven that they have similarities in their environmental structure. The dark lighting and undertone, as well as the threat of the infected world that surrounds both games, merge incredibly well together so it’s no wonder that USNIM has seen the potential in using Gustavo Santaolalla’s melody in their own trailer edit.

Another fantastic trailer mashup that the YouTuber has implemented is an edited video ofThe Last of Us Part 2with the soundtrack of Billie Eilish ‘Bury a Friend’ cloaking the entire reel. As you may know, Billie is known for her dark and bizarre music videos as well as lyrics so with the brilliantly pieced edits that USNIM has undertaken, it carries the fanmade trailer to another atmospheric level. One part, in particular, that’s done really well is at the 1.27 mark in the scene when we see Joel walk into the house, where Ellie has just massacred a pile of people, is done backward. USNIM has given this iconic scene a completely different feel and I’m totally here for that.
