Just a couple of days ago, Bethesda confirmed that Machine Games, developers of the recentWolfensteinseries, isdeveloping a brand new Indiana Jones game. The announcement also confirmed that Bethesda stalwart,Todd Howard, would be executive producing the game. The news was met with plenty of excitement over social media, however, some fans shared some concerns for two of Bethesda’s other huge titles,StarfieldandThe Elder Scrolls 6.
Alongside the newIndiana Jonesgame, Howard will be executive producing the upcomingFalloutTV Seriesas well as directing bothStarfieldand the nextElder Scrollstitle. While that may seem a lot, Bethesda Vice President, Pete Hines has moved to confirm that theIndiana Jonesgame won’t have an impact on either of the game’s development.
In a tweet,Hinessaid:
Todd is currently EP on many BGS and other projects, such as the Fallout TV show. His main focus remains Directing the upcoming Starfield and TES6 games, which aren’t affected by today’s news.
For those excited by either title, that’s good news. However, don’t expect them any time soonwith Hines previously saying, “if you’re coming at me for details now and not years from now, I’m failing to properly manage your expectations.”
Microsoft’srecent acquisition of Bethesdawill make things incredibly interesting for bothThe Elder Scrolls 6andStarfield. While the games are likely to be two of the biggest titles of this generation, it’s unclear whether they’ll make their way onto Sony’s PS5.Todd Howard has previously saidthat it “is hard to imagine”The Elder Scrolls 6coming only to Xbox platforms, however, that likely doesn’t mean much given Microsoft paid over $7 billion for the studios.
Two of the previousElder Scrollstitlescelebrate big anniversaries this year, withOblivionturning 15 andSkyrimturning 10. It will be interesting to see if Bethesda decides to do anything to celebrate these milestones.
