Right from stuttering to ability disbalances, gamers had plenty of complaints, and they made sure they were all heard. Few gamers felt like the game had been “rushed out,”but Mark Rubin felt otherwise.

Rushed out? No. What we have is an engine that has only ever been an MMO. And so all of the infrastructure for an FPS has had to be built up from the ground floor. Even CoD started on ID tech which was a shooter engine. Apex started on a shooter engine. But for us we are working…

Rubin explains thatXDefiantis being developed on an engine that was initially created for an MMO, not an FPS game. Due to this, they had to create FPS aspects from scratch, which has proven to be quite tricky and time-consuming for the developers, leading to various in-game bugs.

If you like what we are trying to do stick around and you’ll see things improve and new features get added. But if the game isn’t for you, that’s ok you can move on.”

The developers encourage gamers who appreciate their efforts to stay and witness the improvements but understand if some people choose to move on.

While some fans find his explanation convincing, others are still skeptical. According to players,XDefianthas been postponed multiple times to address any issues, and it’s illogical for them to use an outdated engine.

Where not staying in that engine forever are we? And why use and outdated engine right at the turn of a new generation of tech? Any plans of an engine update? Ik it’s most likely of dealing with what you were dealt but I feel like the engine is holding the game back

Others have called out the publisher’s poor management and called the game“mediocre”at best.

I blame poor management, you knew this from day one but still used this engine, thats on you. An I moved on ages ago as its clear this game is medicore at best.@Funke_dee

Some have appreciated Rubin’s honesty, and transparency with the game’s development struggles. They hope to see more crucial features added to the game with future updates.

Love the game and your transparency with the community. Please add solo queues as the current experience is horrible. Also cab input based matchmaking easily be bypassed? the way some people move on some matches screams K&M when I’m only meant to be up against controllers.

It’s going to be crucial to see how Ubisoft resolves existing bugs inXDefiant, especially in the Ranked Mode. Hopefully, the community will get a major update from Rubin soon.

Ubisoft Will Fix the Spiderbot Issues in XDefiant With Next Update

XDefiant‘s Season 1 brought a new Clubhouse map on the first day of the season alongside new modes, weapons, several bug fixes, and gameplay adjustments. However, Ubisoft made significant changes to the Spiderbot ability, which made it more difficult for players on the receiving end to counter it.

Players discovered that Spiderbots can no longer be manually shot off a player’s face unless a teammate shoots the Spiderbot off them. The change wasn’t found in the patch notes, and players weren’t particularly thrilled about it online.

However,Rubin has confirmedthat with the next non-emergency update patch, they will fix this issue. It seems like developers are actively listening to their player base and continuously working behind the scenes to fix every problem as soon as possible. Let’s hope they continue with this trend for their upcoming games as well.
