Liam Neesonstars as the aforementioned widower Daniel, who has recently lost his wife and is spending time with his stepson Sam, played by Thomas Brodie-Sangster. As Neeson cares for his stepson, a subplot talks about wanting to date the supermodel Claudia Schiffer. At the end of the film, the mother of one of Sam’s classmates is portrayed by Schiffer.
The Sunreported that among other actors, supermodel Claudia Schiffer earned a whopping $350,000 for her brief role as Carol, the mother of Sam’s classmate. Filmmaker Richard Curtis reportedly paid £200,000 on Schiffer for only about 60 seconds of screentime. This roughly amounts to around £3,300 per second.
In a cast that is filled with legendary actors like Hugh Grant, Emma Thompson, and Liam Neeson, a huge paycheck for supermodel Claudia Schiffer might seem excessive. However, the moment in the film and subplot involving Neeson’s Daniel desiring to date the actual Schiffer makes it worth the money spent.
