The manga will be continued under Toyotaro, the illustrator of the series, who has also been involved in writing. So, in the absence of Toriyama, what could be the next big transformation?
Goku and Gohan Might Fuse to GiveDragon Ballits Next Biggest Transformation
During the serialization ofDragon Ball Super, some of the strongest warriors have already emerged. As alwaysGoku is dominating with his latest powerup, Ultra Instinct,but another rival has also emerged, and it is Goku’s own son, Gohan. Despite being the most nonviolent of the lot, Gohan is still extremely powerful.
Most Powerful Fusion of Goku and Vegeta in Dragon Ball
Currently, the latest and most powerful transformation of Gohan is his Beast form.Gohan Beast is an evolved formof his Ultimate state. Gohan Beast is so powerful that in theDragon Ball Super: Super Heromovie, he defeated Cell Max with ease. In fact, Piccolo and Bulma believe that his power is enough to make himpotentially stronger than Vegeta and even Goku.
When Gohan Beast fought with Goku’s Perfected Ultra Instinct form in theDragon Ball Supermanga, they seemed evenly matched. The father-son duo have both made immense progress, but what happens when a new villain appears that could overcome both of them? And it is likely to happen since that is the pattern of Dragon Ball. In this likely scenario, Goku and Gohan might have no way to defeat the opponent other than to fuse.
Goku and Gohan’s Super Saiyan Beast Instinct
In his Perfected Ultra Instinct state, Goku’s power skyrockets from his previous transformations, and he becomes stronger than he has ever been. In fact, his power is also stated to surpass the powers of the Gods of Destruction in the Broly Guidebook. Withtwo of the strongest forms at hand, namely Perfected Ultra Instinct Goku and Gohan Beast, the only logical next step is to fuse them.
Gohan has canonically never fused before. Only theDragon Ball Fusionsgame shows a fusion of Kid Gohan and Goku, which is called Coohan/Gokuhan. Thus, a canon fusion of Goku and Gohan is bound to happen at one point or another. If Goku and Gohan decide to fuse at their strongest forms, they will create a Super Saiyan Beast Instinct.

By combining Gohan Beast and Ultra Instinct Goku, the resulting fusion product (let’s call them Gokhan) will not only have Gohan and Goku’s pure, unfiltered rage but also an automatic reaction to any threat, with the most suitable means to defend and attack. Their rage will be subdued by Ultra Instinct’s calmness, but the intensity of the powers will remain.
Of course, the nostalgic Super Saiyan form will also play a role in the fusion since it is the most characteristic transformation of the franchise. Overall, Gokhan might be a distant shot, but it isn’t unrealistic, givenDragon Ball‘s history.
