With Gege Akutami’sJujutsu Kaisencoming to an end, fans are fuming, as the series could not have a worse ending than this. Despite the final chapters being quite disappointing, readers had high hopes for the ending; Akutami-San did not care at all, as he crushed the hopes. as the conclusion featured some plotholes that made it look extremely rushed.

Even the antagonist, Ryomen Sukuna, the primary antagonist of the series, failed to live up to the fans’ expectations, as they believed him to cross all the expectations that fans had with him. Despite failing to live up to the mark of being the best villain, he managed to become the strongest name, which compelled the jujutsu sorcerers to jump on him simultaneously.
Even though Akutami-San has messed up big time with him, they managed to avoid the disaster class that Oda-Sensei had with Kaido inOne Piece. Fans were quick to follow as they also reacted on social media!

Gege Akutami Avoided The Grave Mistake Made by Eiichiro Oda
With an extraordinarily lengthy time,Eiichiro Oda’sOne Piecehas managed to become the greatest piece of Shonen work that has consistently been entertaining the fans. Needless to say, the mangaka had built a reputation of being the most consistent artist; after all, his series remains popular even after 27 years and is going strong.
Sadly, even Oda-Sensei could not escape criticism, as he made one of the most flawed villains in his magnum opus, who also happens to be the strongest foe that Monkey D. Luffy has faced till now. Kaido, the Captain of the Beast Pirates, was one of the most compelling antagonists featured in the series.

One Piece Theory: The Salamander Connection from Japanese Mythology Makes Imu Eiichiro Oda’s Perfect Villain Against Luffy
Featured for the first time in Chapter 795, titledThe Strongest Character,he was believed to be the big bad boy ofOne Pieceand the biggest foe that Luffy had faced till now. However, when he was being written, the author failed to give him some likable qualities that would make him so appealing to the audience.
However, the sloppy writing and the“paper-thin”backstory added to the problem and made some fans believe that the manga artist did not care about him at all. Even a fan on Reddit pointed it out, as they wrote,

However,Gege Akutamiavoided making the same mistake as Eiichiro Oda. They showcased The King of Curses as a pretty straightforward character who might look a little too generic, but it is much more than that.
In Kento Nanami’s words,“There is no one in this world more proud and conceited. He lives guided by only his pleasure and displeasure.”Despite being so shallow on the outside, Sukuna is the perfect description of a bloodthirsty and chaotic embodiment of evil who would do anything that he pleases.

Hence, having so many villains in the Shonen genre, he managed to make a pretty big name for himself.
The Otaku Community Chooses the Greater Villain Between the Two
While Eiichiro Oda gave a disaster class with The King of the Beasts, Akutami-San decided to have a pretty simple and well-defined approach to their antagonist. Hence, even without much depth or complexity, Sukuna’s character, makes him an old-fashioned yet unpredictable character who is moved by nothing but simple evil desires.
As a result, a fan took toX, asking the Otaku community to choose between the two while giving their hot take on The King of Curses being better than The Strongest Creature. They commented,
LolBoth are done badly. And yet, Kaido’s abysmal backstory managed to show how he became who he is nowSukuna’s philosophy has NOTHING to back up. Him going north just because he got defeated is lacklusterIf Sukuna at least have the same amount of flashback, it could be true
Ideals»> backstory. Every villain doesn’t need one and every villain doesn’t need a sympathetic one for sure
Both villains are kinda meh especially since they’re very similar. Kaido is only better to me cuz he’s funny and cool dragon man
Sukuna isn’t a bad villain. But he sure as hell is incomplete. If Sukuna was PURELY “I strong, I evil”, he wouldn’t need a flashback. But he is MORE than that. That’s why he is an incomplete character
Not even close, Kaido was handled much better, both his introduction and his downfall.Sukuna was an interesting villain but not as good as Kaido, I’m so sorry.
Both are below 7/10
Nevertheless, the idolization of Sukuna by Akutami-San has always been evident in the series. However, this glorification of the character did not help them, as the character had amediocre ending to his epic tale.
One Piececan be streamed on Crunchyroll.
