Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League, the action shooter title from Rocksteady Studio in the Arkhamverse is set to launch on July 14, 2025. The game is currently available for players with the Deluxe Edition but it has not gone as smoothly as the developer and players would have hoped. Players started seeing several major issues with the game forcing it to go into maintenance.
The game has been a point of debate and criticism ever since its initial announcement and it has now been revealed that Rocksteady Studios has added a new feature inSuicide Squad: Kill the Justice Leaguethat will anger the players waiting for the game even more.
Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League Has Added Denuvo DRM Ahead of Release
Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice Leaguehas been criticized around its live service status but the developer has abstained from calling it a live service title. It also assured fans that the game would live up to their expectations but that hasn’t happened even during the Early Access.
One of the main reasons behind the backlash was that players needed to be online to play the game, even when they played the single-player campaign. The battle pass and gear system have also been called a cash-grabbing technique from Rocksteady but the developer has always defended the game saying that it has the same DNA as Arkhamverse games.
It has now been revealed that Rocksteady Studios has added the Anti-tamper technology, Denuvo DRM inSuicide Squad: Kill the Justice League. As perSteamDB, Denuvo DRM was added on Saturday, January 20 and the game’sSteampage now says that it“incorporates 3rd-party DRM: Denuvo Anti-Tamper”and fans are not happy with the latest addition.
Denuvo from DRM or digital rights management is an anti-tamper tool that is used to protect a video game from the piracy and emulation of its source code. The software has been used in many video games but has been criticized by PC gamers as it causes performance issues due to high usage of CPU and is also said to degrade SSDs due to excessive reading.
Players have also complained of privacy issues as it requires players to launch the game while being online. The addition of Denuvo DRM is connected to the game requiring players to be online while playing the game and the online battle pass, players are unhappy with it. Rocksteady has multiple issues that it needs to deal with for the game and Denuvo DRM has now made it to the list.
Kill the Justice League Early Access Is a Massive Failure
Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice Leagueis now out for players with Deluxe Edition and players started complaining about issues with just one hour in the game. Payers faced server issues that caused story progress to be complete when players booted up the game. The developer stopped the access to the game and took into maintenance to fix the issue.
The game again entered into scheduled maintenance, logging out players playing the game then and players were not able to access the game. Although it was not revealed what the maintenance was for, it could have been to fix any issues before the launch and the servers are now back online.
However, this has left players enraged that a game has been in development for so long and has even faced several delays but still isn’t in a state to play and has gone twice in maintenance in just under 24 hours.
