Storing Resources
The first and most important thing to do with resources is tostore them somewhere safe.Resources have all sorts of uses, and players won’t know what they need right away, making it important to hang onto all these resources until the day comes when they are needed. Instead of trying to carry them all, thebest place to store resources is on your ship,either in thecargo holdor in various storage chests within.
Storing resources in the cargo hold is the best option as thoseresources can be accessed in different menus that require materials when nearby or inside the ship,almost making it seem like the player is carrying them around. Variousspace habs offer lots of storage space that will be less organizedand in various chests, but it is still a useful option for storing tons of resources.
Research Projects
Research projects will be required for all various uses of resources,as everything will need to be researched before it can be built. While something will only need to be researched once, completing a more complex research project willunlock better and more powerful uses for your resources.Upon getting a large sum of resources, visit a Research Station andcomplete all the projectspossible to build up your potential inventory for later in the game.

Upgrading Weapons & Spacesuits
There are all sorts of people and creatures in Starfield that will attempt to kill you on sight, making it important to have strong gear and a powerful weapon. Utilizing either aSpacesuit or Weapon workbench, players are able to give additional bonuses to their gear,making them even strongeror giving them additional perks.
All of these upgrades require specific resources that vary depending on the type of item being upgraded. While better gear can also be found,even some of the best gear in the game has further room for improvement.

While a player’s ship will be their home away from home, outposts and apartments can act as the player’s actual home.Outposts offer more versatility as their layout and design are all created by the player,but it willcost a lot of resources to build the various buildingsand decorate the interior.
For those wanting to live in the middle of a city such as New Atlantis,apartments can be purchased,but they will start off empty.Using resources, players can build various decorationsto fill out the apartment to their liking.
