While playingStarfield, you will probably run out of carrying capacity pretty early on. In the game, it is called mass, and you do not have much mass to begin with. You will need to upgrade your Skills and items in order to have more mass.

What Is Carrying Capacity?
Your carry capacity is also known as your mass. If you want to see your mass, all you need to do is go to your character menu. At the bottom right, you will see the inventory option. Your mass is located under that option.You can also find it at the bottom of the inventory screen. If you see that you are carrying more than the amount of mass you have, you will not be able to fast travel. You also won’t be able to sprint as far.

How Do You Increase Your Carrying Capacity?
There are a couple of ways you can increase your carry capacity. Thankfully, this isn’t too difficult to do.One way that you can increase your carrying capacity is by unlocking new Skills to increase it. For instance, in the Physical category of your Skills, you can find the Weightlifting Skill.This Skill will increase your carrying capacity per level that it is. You can increase the level by sprinting while doing various challenges (such as having your carrying capacity at 75% or more).
The other way you can increase your carrying capacity is by adding mods to your items. You can mod your spacesuit to allow you to have more space in your inventory for items. This can be extremely beneficial; however, mods like that can be difficult to obtain.You will certainly want to add it to your spacesuit if you’re given the opportunity.
Other Ways To Store Items
If you find yourself running low on carrying capacity even after upgrading, you have a few options.If you travel with acrew member, you can transfer items over to them. This will allow you to carry more items in your own inventory. You can also transfer items to yourcargo holdon your ship.If you run out of room there, you can increase it as well.You could evenbuild an Outpostand store some items there.
