Uses For Tiger Trout

Fish can be used in some recipes, which call for specific fish. Tiger Trout can be a requested item, and it also can be gifted. Putting fish in ponds will also see them produce certain items that are specific to that fish.

All recipes for the Tiger Trout are basic fish recipes. This means there is no unique crafting or cooking recipe for the Tiger Trout. They can be used to cook Maki Rolls and Sashimi on a stove or campfire cooking kit. Tiger Trout can also be used to make Quality Fertilizer or with a sewing machine to make the Fish Shirt.

Gifting and Requests

Tiger Trout should only be gifted to Willy as he is the only member of the town that likes this fish. Everyone else either feels neutral about it, dislikes it, and Pierre, Haley, and Evelyn hate getting Tiger Trout. Willy is also the only person that will put in a request on the board outside Pierre’s Shop for Tiger Trout when they are in season.

If a player is fixing up the Community Center, and they have the River Fish Bundle in the Fishtank, then get ready to give the Junimos a Tiger Trout. It is one of the fish required to finish off that bundle and will net you 30 bait upon completion.

Fish Ponds

The Tiger Trout is one of the more unique fish when it comes to how it interacts in Fish Ponds. When a fish is put into the pond, it will normally self-populate the pond. A Tiger Trout will not do this. You must fish each one of the 10 fish and put them in the pond by hand. On top of that, they will not have any special requests for increasing the pond size like other fish. Tiger Trout also produce nothing aside from their own roe. That means no special items come from putting them in a pond. The Tiger Trout roe can still be aged for more money based on Farming skills, and picking up the roe will give a farmer 14 experience points each time.
