One thing that’s abundantly clear is that Nintendo put a lot of effort into players being able to customize their character, their outfits, and their new personal space.

It might not seem like a lot at first, but they’ve made sure that you receive customization items as rewards for every mode that you play. This means that nobody has to miss out on customizing their space because the only play Salmon Run, or single-player, or Turf War. It’s thoughtful and inclusive in a way that really benefits the players.
Claim Your Locker
Unfortunately, you can’t just boot up the game and immediately start customizing everything. You’ll need to reach level four before the doors of the locker room will even open for you. The quickest way to reach level four is just to hop into some Turf War battles and give it your best shot. You earn more experience for victories, so do your best to clinch a win. After you’ve reached level four, you just need to go to the lobby and walk through the doors behind the large gumball machine. Once you’ve opened your locker, it’s just a matter of pressing the plus button to begin editing.

Use Your Outfits
Even if you don’t have a single decoration to your name, Splatoon 3 allows you to use your weapons and clothes as decorations within your locker. This means you don’t have to have much to make something feel like your own. Maybe just hang up your weapon and favorite outfit and call it a day for now. That’s great! Whatever you like is great, and other people who encounter you through multiplayer will be able to see what you’ve done with your space. No matter how minimal it is, it’s worth taking a little time to show off your personal flair.

Stickers Everywhere
Shoutout to stickers, because Splatoon 3 can make you feel like a kid again with them. Throw stickers all over the place. Pepper the front of the locker with them, the inside door, and anywhere else the game will let you put down a sticker. They’re a cheap way to make the space your own and many of them often look fun together. Don’t forget that the general store (which sells many items) will let you buy more than one of the same item. So, if you have a favorite sticker, buy whole a bunch and plaster the place with them.

Collect New Stuff
While you might not have a lot to decorate with from the start, that will change pretty quickly if you want it to. Head over to the general store and there are a ton of unique items to pick up just for decorating your personal space. You can also jump into the single player campaign where you’ll be rewarded with items to put in your locker and show off your personal flair. Still not enough? Try Salmon Run. You can use bronze, silver, and gold fish scales to buy stickers and decorations to display in your locker. Whichever part of the game you love, there seems to be an opportunity to play your way while still acquiring stylish decorations for your locker.
