Sony has finally revealed officially licensed PS5 console covers, as well as three new DualSense Controller colours, all coming in early 2022.
It was previously speculated that PlayStation was gearing up to launch their own PS5 covers after anofficial patent was publishedjust a few weeks ago. Unfortunately, you won’t be able to ask Santa for one of the five new colours as they aren’t set to launch until the beginning of 2022. But hey, better late than never I guess?
PlayStation 5 ‘Galaxy’ Covers & Controllers Coming In 2022
The new PS5 console covers are a part of Sony’s new ‘Galaxy Collection’, with fans being able to pick up the following colours in 2022:
Beginning in January 2022, the Midnight Black and Cosmic Red console covers will go on sale at participating retailers. The remaining colours of the Galaxy Collection will launch in the first half of 2022.
The three new DualSense Controller colours will also be launching in January 2022, with Midnight Black and Cosmic Red already available for purchase after launching back in June.
PlayStation states that the new console covers are easy to use, simply remove the original PS5 console cover and click the new ones into place, no tools or screws are needed. All colours will also be available for both the Digital and Disc version of the PS5.
The PS5 console covers and new DualSense Controller colours will only be launching in the following regions in January 2022: USA, Canada, UK, France, Germany, Switzerland, Austria, Spain, Portugal, Italy, Australia, New Zealand, Japan, China, Taiwan, Hong Kong, Singapore, Malaysia, Thailand, Indonesia, Vietnam, Korea, and the Philippines.Â
Sony has stated that they intended to launch both products in additional territories over the course of 2022, so if you don’t see your region listed above, you may need to wait a little longer to get your hands on the new covers and controllers.
