Players can find themselves forever going the distance when it comes to traveling inSons Of The Forest. Needless to say, it’s hard enough to embark on a lengthy mission — let alone through cannibal-infested woodlandsin the middle of the night.

The Rope Gun can provide players with the ability tohitch themselves to pre-built zip linesscattered throughout certain caves, while also granting players the ability to create their very own deployable zip lines on the fly. This piece of equipment is not only an invaluable asset to any player’s inventory, but it’s a requirement to explore certain caves and retrieveitems like the shovel.
Where To Find The Rope-Gun
The Rope Gun can be found deep in one of the caves that are scattered throughout the map, Thiscavein question can be found on thewest side of the map(featured in the image above). It’s extremely important to note that this cave is one of the most difficult caves to make your way through in one peace due to the quantity and types of enemies that await you.
We can’t stress enough howinfestedthis cave is; it’s certain to be a challenge for even the most experienced players. Stock up on armor,weapons, and consumables, and be sure toget plenty of restbefore making any attempt to explore this cave.
Once you reach the designated location and cave that contains both the Rope-Gun and Rebreather, make sure topitch a tarp tent in the vicinityof the cave entrance. Doing so allows the player thesave their progressand set a respawn point that’s close enough to the cave to have another attempt in case they fail the first time. Once you have entered the cave using the entrance, proceed to navigate your way till you reach what appears to be adead end.
Once you reach what appears to be a dead end, look to your right and look for agiant mutant wormthat’s trapped within the cave walls. To proceed past this point, the player must eliminate the mutated worm from the void in the wall of the cave. This can be easily done bycrafting a time bombfrom your inventory or using hand grenades. Once you have successfully destroyed the mutated worm, the passage will be cleared and free for the player to proceed.
After passing through the once-covered tunnel, you should find aprinted email on A4 paperwith the words “More Lighting” printed on it, along with a corpse. Remain to the left to find this entrance as highlighted in the image above.
Proceed toclimb the small rampafter passing through the tunnel filled withsuspended corpses. When you reach the flat spot at the top, turn around and walk past the small pile of stalagmites on your right.
Once you reach the end of this tunnel, it may take a while due to thecannibalsand distance. You will find the Rope-Gun at the endin a box on the floor. Simply collect the Rope-Gun to add it to your inventory.
TheRe-Breathercan be found in the same cave as the Rope Gun.
