Almost every Soul Reaper inBleachpossesses a Zanpakuto that is considered to be their main weapon. These Zanpakuto are in the form of swords and have multiple hidden abilities that can be unlocked only when the Soul Reapers reach their full potential. Once this happens, the Zanpakuto transforms into two different forms called the Shikai and the Bankai.

While Shikai is the second form, Bankai is considered the final form and strongest transformation for any Soul Reaper. The Bankai’s strength depends upon the Soul Reaper’s strength, and thus, it can vary for every other character. In some cases, the Bankai transformations can be extremely terrifying and the perfect example of this is Shinji Hirako.
Shinji’s Bankai is so powerful and dangerous that the Soul Reaper has been banned from using it within Soul Society. This is because it does not depend upon the force of its attack but plays with the perception and mindset of not only his enemies but also his allies.

Shinji Hirako’s Sakashima Yokoshima Happofusagari
While Shinji currently serves as the captain of the 5th Division in the Gotei 13, he was first introduced in the Arrancar arc as a student at Ichigo’s school who was actually a Visored. He was one of the few Soul Reapers who acquired Hollow powers. Later on, Shinji went on to become one of the most crucial characters inBleachand also made a return inBleach: Thousand-Year Blood War.
Bleach: Yhwach Blocking Chad’s Attack Seems Impossible, But it Still Makes Sense in TYBW
In fact, fans first got to exclusively witness Shinji’s Bankai abilities inBleach: Thousand-Year Blood War. Shinji’s Zanpakuto’s name is Sakanade and his Bankai was called Sakashima Yokoshima Happofusagari. While it felt just like any otherBankai transformation, Shinji revealed that he was actually banned from using his Bankai in Soul Society.
The reason behind it was that his Bankai did not discriminate while attacking. The effect of his Bankai is felt by his enemies and his allies as it confuses their perception and makes them attack everyone around them. The only person safe during his Bankai is Shinji himself because his Bankai encloses Shinji in a golden flower.

Shinji’s Bankai is Banned Because It is a Threat
When compared toother Bankai transformations inBleach,Shinji’s Bankai is dangerous to the Soul Society. This is because of its inability to discriminate between enemies and allies. While other Bankai transformations can be focused specifically on the enemies, Shinji does not have this liberty, and it could easily wreak havoc on Soul Society.
Another significant reason why Shinji’s Bankai deserves the ban is that it uses others’ powers by manipulating their perception. Therefore, if he uses it on strong characters like the Gotei 13 Captains, it would instantly lead to the death of all the Captains. If Shinji loses control of his Bankai, it could easily take down the strongest defense of the Soul Society.

It’s a Downright Violation How Tite Kubo Wasted the Fastest Bankai in Bleach Because Aizen Had Plot Armor
Thus it is too powerful to be used within the confines of the Soul Society. While Shinji’s Bankai may pose a threat to the Soul Society, which justifies its ban, it also hints at the brilliance ofTite Kubo’screativity and his ability to make almost everyBleachcharacter special in their own way.
Bleachis available to watch on Hulu.
