However, there were ways to avoid the disappointing end of the character’s journey. While most of his love interests were explored in the show, some were left largely unaddressed, including his connection with Yvette the Vet. Introduced in Season 7, the character was forgotten after a single appearance, despite the promising chemistry she shared with Raj.

Portrayed byKunal Nayyarin the hit sitcomThe Big Bang Theory, Raj did not have the best of luck when it came to his romantic life. Despite going through numerous relationships and love interests, he ends up alone at the end of the show, similar to how Joey’s,portrayed byMatt LeBlanc, journey ends inFRIENDS.

However, the showrunners of the hit CBS sitcomhad numerous opportunities to preventthe disheartening end for the character, including the one that came with the introduction of Yvette the Vet in Season 7.

Howard and Raj in The Big Bang Theory

Season 7 Episode 15,The Locomotive Manipulation, follows Raj meeting the vet after she treats Cinnamon, who ate Leonard’s Valentine’s candy. As a fellow pet owner, Yvette empathizes with Raj’s concern for Cinnamon, and the two bond over their shared love for animals and frustration with Penny and Leonard for not properly watching the dog.

They spend considerable time together, even prompting Penny (Kaley Cuoco) to think that there is something romantic going on between them. By the end of the episode, it is revealed that Yvette gave Raj her number, and he eagerly prepares to call her.

Tania Raymonde as Yvette the Vet

However, the potential romance does not go anywhere from there, as Yvette, portrayed by Tania Raymonde, is never seen or mentioned again on the show. The storyline is abruptly dropped, leaving Raj’s romantic arc with Yvette unresolved.

Based on their mutual affection and respect, it would have offered a healthier, more stable dynamic compared to Raj’s other, often tumultuous relationships. Both Raj and Yvette shared a genuine connection based on their common interest, especially their love for their pets.

Yvette presented a rare opportunity for Raj to experience a real and uncomplicated relationship, and they could have built a supportive partnership that would have potentially allowed Raj to navigate love in a grounded and positive way.
