One of the most popular video game franchises of all time,Borderlands, is finally coming to Hollywood. A science fiction action comedy film based on the video game series is currently in production and is all set to feature Cate Blanchett along with, Kevin Hart, Jack Black, Bobby Lee, and Jamie Lee Curtis.

The film was first announced in 2015. Eli Roth was hired as director in February 2020 and Blanchett joined the project in May 2020.

The film focuses on Lilith and her team as they battle alien monsters and bandits while they traverse Pandora in search of the missing girl. The filming was wrapped in June 2021 but was slowed down due to some reshoots. Now, the film has an official release date: June 30, 2025.
