In March, Karen Huger was involved in an unfortunate car crash in Bethesda, Maryland. She was charged with a DUI, and several other violations for the same, and one of the charges also included negligent driving.

In a conversation withE! News, Huger reflected on the incident and said:
I woke up from it feeling so much gratitude. One, that no one else was involved in the accident, and, two, that I’m alive and I’m here.
I’m waiting for my truth to come out. I will own it every step of the way. And I hope it doesn’t disappoint some people.
As perReality Tidbit, court records revealed that Huger was driving her 2017 Maserati quite aggressively, and this led to her accident where she struck two signs at an intersection. Despite the gravity of the incident, she was adamant about taking accountability.

RHOPproducers released the bodycam footage of Huger after the accident and in the video, she was confident yet undeniably rattled.“They call me Grande Dame. Andy Cohen did that,”is what she said in her self-referential statement, which sounded like a claim to fame.
It could simply be a funny moment for her, but it seemed a bit misplaced, given the situation. But what caught everyone’s attention was the comment about being“Thomas Jefferson’s concubine,”and it understandably left viewers shocked. The whole thing was chaotic because she refused to take a breathalyzer test as she was assured to be released within 30 minutes.

Moreover, her answers were inconsistent when she was asked about the crash and that further complicated the case. Her responses might be embarrassing to some, but others also found it meme-worthy. So, it’s no surprise that despite the bodycam footage, Huger feels gratitude because at least she made it out in one piece.
