The Secretlab SKINS Lite has launched and offers a new affordable way to not only customize the look of your Secretlab chair, but also protect it from those pesky coffee spills. Have I mentioned crumbles of chocolate and how difficult those can be to get out?
In 2022 Secretlab launched their SoftWeave skins, and now with SKINS Lite, the entry point for customization comes in at only $99 USD at the time of writing this review. Let’s now dive into the various aspects that make or break this product.

The Product
The skins I personally have been using are the Lich King and Illidan skins from the World of Warcraft set. I personally enjoy the Illidan skin more than the Lich King skin.
The Illidan skin has a beautiful Demon Hunter feel to it, with crisp graphics that look great up close and far away. The Lich King skin goes for more of a “washed out” look to present a gritty, Northrend feel to it. While I’m sure many people would love this design approach, I personally preferred the sharper image look of the Illidan skin.
Design Quality
The SKINS Lite fabric has a soft stretchy texture that I’ve found has been very effective in:
I’ll dive deeper into these features and how my experience has been while using the product. Overall the quality of the SKINS Lite is very good, and it does everything it claims to do!
Assembly and Fit
When putting on the Secretlab SKINS Lite for the first time, the whole process took only about 4 minutes total once the box was opened. Opening the box brings you to 2 bags, one for the back of the chair and one for the seat.
After opening each bag, I very easily pulled the seat-back skin over the back of the seat, pulled the bottom of the fabric through and zipped it up. The toughest part here was pulling the zipper at the bottom of the backrest through to be able to zip it up, it was a tight and snug fit - but still very easy and quick.
Next, I took out the seat cover and again, easily pulled it over the seat. The only challenge I found was that there is one plastic fastening clip on each side of the seat fabric and I wasn’t sure what to do with it. Luckily I found the official assembly video online and found that you simply need to pull it a bit tighter and slide it into the black plastic part of the side of the seat.
Sliding the clip in place was a bit difficult because it is an extremely snug fit, but after some force, I was able to slide it in.
All in all, a very simple and quick process and after the first skin was on and tested, it was very easy to take it off and swap it to the second skin.
Comfort and Cleanliness
To fully test out these skins, I purposely spilled coffee and sat on some chocolate from a halloween candy (for science!). After letting them sit for an hour, I popped them into the laundry machine and voila, they were clean like nothing had ever happened.
The spill also never made it to my actual chair, so the skin successfully protected my Secretlab chair from any stains.
Due to the type of fabric, it’s also very easy to brush off any crumbs I find on the seat from my ravenous snacking during a gaming session. Even my Jack Russell Terrier’s fine white hair is easy to brush off, and that usually gets stuck everywhere.
Final Verdict - 4/5
The Secretlab SKINS Lite is a great starting point for anyone to get into the customization and protection of their Secretlab chair at a cheap price. These skins perform as good as they claim, being very easy to swap, clean, and assemble.
When comparing them to the original SoftWeave skins, there is definitely a difference in overall feel of the product. I do prefer the soft plush feeling of the more expensive original skins, but that comes with a heftier price tag.
The SKINS Lite is priced exactly where it should be and offers users an affordable way to freshen up their chair with protection and a new look.
