Filming began on October 17 in Canada and the movie is scheduled to be released on June 10, 2025.

The reboot is being directed by British Director Johannes Roberts who is best known for a range of movies in the horror genre. Upon the reveal ofResident Evilhe said: “With this movie, I really wanted to go back to the original first two games and re-create the terrifying visceral experience I had when I first played them whilst at the same time telling a grounded human story about a small dying American town that feels both relatable and relevant to todayâs audiences.”
The cast includes Robbie Amell (Upload) who will play Chris Redfield, Kaya Scodelario (Maze Runner) who plays Claire Redfield, Hannah John-Warren (Ant-Man and the Wasp) as Jill Valentine, Avan Jogia (Zombieland: Double Tap) as Leon S. Kennedy, Tom Hopper (The Umbrella Academy) as Albert Wesker, and Neal McDonough (Yellowstone)Â as William Birkin.
Last month,images from the set surfaced on the internetshowing off a helicopter emblazoned with the S.T.A.R.S logo and a building that could be Spencer Mansion, the setting of the upcoming film.
