As such, bringing the two giants together to share a screen seems like a pretty easy decision for studios chasing big numbers at the box office. Yet, such a collaboration has only happened once. Interestingly, Quentin Tarantino may now reunite the pair in what is being billed as his last film.

Brad PittandTom Cruiseappeared in gothic horrorInterview with the Vampirein 1994. The former played Spanish lord Louis, while the latter showed his vampire magic by assuming the role of Lestat. The film was a financial success, grossing $223.7 million at the box office. It was also received well by critics and earned a couple of Oscar nominations.
However, in several interviews (viaFar Out Magazine) afterward, Pitt suggested he didn’t have the best of times while working on the film. In the next three decades, the pair didn’t cross paths on the big screen.

During a discussion in a Comic-Con at Home panel (viaCollider), Kosinki revealed:

“I wouldn’t say we got close to production, but I got to the point where I had Tom Cruise and Brad Pitt at a table read, reading the script together.”
However, due to budget issues, the project didn’t get the green light. Soon after, it was revived with Christian Bale and Matt Damon in the drivers’ seats.

Meanwhile, a recent report aboutQuentin Tarantino’s ambitious projecthas revived fans’ hopes of seeing Pitt and Cruise together once again.

According to The Insneider (viaComingSoon), Cruise is in talks to join the cast of Tarantino’s final film,The Movie Critic.
TheMission: Impossiblestar, who’s expected to be busy most of the year with the eighth installment of his iconic franchise, is thought to be rearranging his schedule to make room forThe Movie Critic.

Pitt has also been heavily linked with the project, which is being backed by Sony Pictures. TheTroystar is expected to take on the lead role in a film based on a guy who used to write movie reviews for a p-rno rag.
