It’s surmised that with the game already available as a PS2 Classic title on the PS4, it’s most likely being updated to the newer PS2 emulation tech for PS5. Expect a better performance for the game, and hopefully, this means added Trophy support too.
Suppose you’re hoping to play this when it’s available on the service. In that case, you’ll need to be a member of PlayStation Plus Premium (highest tier), as the PS2 Classics titles are only available there and not on the lowest (Essential) tier.

For those unfamiliar with the gaming series, I don’t blame you. It was released way back in 2003 on the PS2, and was developed by now-defunct Incognito Entertainment with Santa Monica Studio assisting development.
The game’s premise is set in the aftermath of an alien invasion on Earth where players take on the roles of gigantic monsters in city environments. It plays like a fighting game but more of a brawler than a technical fighter that pays homage to kaiju films like Godzilla.

Earlier games of this type include King of the Monsters by SNK, which was released in arcades in 1991 and on the Neo Geo console.
