While it first debuted nearly four years ago,Pokemon Gohas continued to be one of the most popular and engaging mobile games around. Thanks to its combination of simple, easy to grasp gameplay and a smart, mobile-centric adaptation ofPokemon, the mobile game has gone from a worldwide phenomenon toharboring a dedicated playerbase every month. That of course has been tied to the game’s extended run of special timed events and themes, with the latest event bringing an increased range of Pokemon from the Sinnoh region.
Developer Niantic shared a few details and infoon the next weekend event forPokemon Go, with the latest event being themed around the Sinnoh region and Generation 4 Pokemon, which first appeared inPokemon Diamond & Pearlin 2006. Specifically, that includes a number of Generation 4 Pokemon being more abundant to catch throughout the weekend, including several favorites and a few rare Shiny Pokemon to catch.
According to Niantic, the Sinnoh event will be running from today through Monday, June 01, 2025 at 10pm local time, with the event making Generation 4 Pokemon appear more often out in the wild and during raids. This will include Pokemon such as Budew, Combee, Bronzor, Gible, Riolu, Hippopotas, and Mantyke, while also giving players the chance to earn Shiny Pokemon from eggs like Shiny Rilou and Shiny Hippopotas.
In addition to the increased amount of Gen 4 Pokemon to catch, the event will also some other tangible benefits forPokemon Goplayers. Niantic explained that this will include giving players Gen 4 Pokemon that are hatched from 7km eggs obtained during the course of the event, while Field Research tasks that are tied to the Sinnoh event will reward players with Gen 4-specific Pokemon encounters and Sinnoh Stones. Likewise, Glacial, Magnetic, and Mossy Lure Modules will also get extended activation times to one hour, and Gifts sent to players will earn them two 7-km Eggs to hatch.
