The actor passed away in 2020 after a quiet battle with colon cancer in 2020. After Marvel decided not to recast, the character was shown to have died offscreen inBlack Panther: Wakanda Forever. Sneider shared that“the door is firmly open for T’Challa to be recast,”adding that it would happen via the multiverse.
