Persona 3 Reloadintroduces a new ability called Theurgy, which is much like Persona 5 Royal’s Showtime but even more efficient. While these Theurgy abilities aren’t introduced until later in the game, they are incredibly powerful, and every party member will have access to them.

Persona 3 Reload: 10 Tips To Survive Tartarus

Tartarus will be the main dungeon in Persona 3 Reload, and players will spend a large portion of the game there; here’s how to survive.

Each character’s Theurgy is different in terms of the element of the damage, but all of them do incredible amounts of damage to even Gatekeepers. Theurgy abilities also power up differently between each character, with a few other details not directly stated that help players use Theurgy more efficiently.

Unlocking & Using Theurgy

Theurgy Abilities areunlocked on 6/13,which is the same day players will get access to the new S.E.E.S outfits. Every character has a Theurgy bar next to their stats on the right side of the screen that fills up during battle. How efficiently these bars fill up isbased on that character’s personality, which can bechecked by opening the Theurgy wheel during combat.

Theurgy energy is filled up by using skills of that character’s personality, like Yukari healing others or Akihiko buffing himself.Attacking the weaknesses of enemies can also fill up the Theurgy bar,but once it turns orange and fills up, players will need totake an action that counts towards that character’s personality to max out the gaugeand use a Theurgy attack.

Yukari Loading A Theurgy Cartridge

This means that the last action before the Theurgy bar is maxed out will always need to match the personality of that character,no matter what skills were used to fill up the bar. This sometimes also takes more than one try andisn’t always going to max out the Theurgy energy right away.Once the bar is full, a Theurgy can be used at any time, with thebar’s energy stays forever, even between trips to Tartarus and Full Moon Operations.

Persona 3 Reload: How To Use The Garden

The Garden is a unique way to grow and obtain powerful restoration items in Persona 3 Reload; here’s how it works.

Fuuka’s Theurgy

While most of the main party’s Theurgy works the same, Fuuka’s is unique in that itfills up randomly during combat.Fuuka’s Theurgy ability is Oracle, which can be used as afree action on any character’s turnwhen available and still can have that character act after Fuuka. Fuuka’s Theurgy has a few possible effects, fromgreatly healing the party, restoring a large amount of SP, or buffing the party in every way for a few turns.Fuuka’s Theurgy should be used often, as theSP restorationcan make trips to Tartarus much easier, and she’s always earning more energy.

Unlocking New Fusion Spells

The Protagonist also has a unique Theurgy in that there are multiple options that players can unlock and use. The Protagonist’s Theurgy is Fusion Spells, which will summon two Personas to do a unique attack. To get new Fusion Spells, unlock new Personas in the Compendium and visit Elizabeth often, and she’ll let you know when you’ve unlocked a new spell. Playerswon’t need to have any of the Fusion Spell Personas equipped, asunlocking themin the Compendium is enough to unlock and use the Theurgy ability forever.
