How to Get Into the Oil Rig

Unfortunately, finding the Rig is the easy part, while boarding it is a bit more of a complicated process.

For starters, players who choose to fly into the Oil Rig will be met with a barrage of deadly lasersand turrets intent on shooting them out of the sky. Because of this, players will want to focus on using fast-flying, stamina-driven powerhouse Pals like Jetragon or Frostallionto get them there in one piece. You have lots of potential friends inthis surprising success story of a title, so make use of them.

Those who’d like to avoid the deadly lasers altogether, however, can also choose to use a swimming Pal to get them to the Stronghold instead.

Using a strong swimming Pal like Azurobe or Jormuntide will allow players to sneak right past the laser cannonsand onto the Oil Rig’s dock without triggering any of the lasers.

How to Beat the Oil Rig Stronghold

After the Oil Rig has been boarded, players will need to hit the ground running if they want to survive. This place is literallycrawlingwith enemies, which doesn’t leave players much time to strategize before they’re running and shooting for their lives.

Technically, you can enter the Stronghold from anywhere in the facility (especially if you decide to use a flying Pal), thoughit’s recommended to enter it on the first floor. The Oil Rig Stronghold is, first and foremost, a vertical structure, with a few buildings strewn about at its base here and there.

This means that starting at the bottom and working your way up to the top is the best course of action for players new to the area.

The enemies you’ll encounter will only get stronger the further up you go, so make sure you heal yourself and your Pals before heading to the upper levels of the Stronghold. At this point, you’ll also want toreleaseany battle-ready Palsyou have with you, as it will save you a lot of time and bullets in the long run.

Many of the enemies in the Oil Rig Stronghold areover level 50and are carrying monstrously strong weapons and Pals, so underestimating them is just about one of the worst things a player can do. Also, more of them will immediately start pouring out once you start killing them, so you’ll want to attempt to defeat them as they come and avoid letting them pile up into a small army.

Once you get to the upper levels of the Oil Rig Stronghold, you’ll be able to disable the automatic turrets and laser cannons by interacting with their terminals. This step is entirely optional, though it doestend to save players a lot of time and headaches while exploring the rest of the area.

Disabling the turrets and laser cannons is optional, but many players have discovered that disabling them as soon as they set foot on the Oil Rig makes beating it far easier.
