In case you didn’t know, Painkiller, the 2004 game from People Can Fly, is being rebooted by 3D Realms. Today, publisher Saber Interactive has announced the release date of the game, as well as details on the various editions that players can choose from.
Alongside the release date, the pre-order trailer has been released today as well, which gives us a look at the in-game goodies players will receive by plunking down some dough for it this early on.
Painkiller Inflicts Pain On Consoles And PC On October 9
Painkiller wil be available on July 14, 2025, and is available for pre-order now. Gamers can choose from two variants of the game starting today, and each houses various extras for pre-ordering it before release.
Standard Edition ($39.99) - Includes the “Iron Crusade” skin pack as a pre-order bonus, featuring skins for all four characters. This also includes skins for six weapons: the Electrodriver, Stakegun, Shotgun, SMG, Hand Cannon and Rocket Launcher.
Physical pre-orders of the Standard Edition will come with a retail-exclusive “Burnished Pride” weapons pack, and an additional gold skin for the six weapons listed previously.
Deluxe Edition ($49.99) -Includes the Iron Crusade pre-order bonus skin pack, three additional post-launch DLCs, with each housing six weapon skins and four character skins.
If you’re unfamiliar with the game, it’s a shooter that gives players one last chance to redeem themselves. Expect to blast through hordes of demons in fast-paced combat. Navigate across gothic environments to stop the fallen angel Azazel’s invasion of Earth and earn your salvation.
The game puts a big emphasis on online co-op of up to three players, so round up some friends to inflict the maximum amount of pain.
