A few weeks ago, Sony was attacked by the gaming community after it announced that allHelldivers 2players must link a PSN account to Steam to continue enjoying the game. This led to a massive uproar, with thousands of players review bombingHelldivers 2. At one point, the game even became the most negatively reviewed single-player title in Steam’s history. While Sony did reverse their decision, it seems like they still haven’t learned their lesson.

Ghost of Tsushimahas finally arrived on PC after years of being requested by players on the platform following the successful launches of other PlayStation exclusives. Unfortunately, Sony’s decision to link PlayStation accounts to play the game yet again has frustrated many in the community, leading to the game being review-bombed on Steam.
Gamers Are Frustrated With PlayStation Network Linking Requirements For Ghost of Tsushima
There’s no doubt thatGhost of Tsushimais one of the most beloved games. With the game finally seeing a PC Port, it should be an incredible occasion for all gamers around the globe. Unfortunately, the game is being review-bombed on Steam due to Sony’s recent actions.
Recently,Sony tried to force players to link their PlayStation Network(PSN) accounts in Arrowhead’s live-service shooterHelldivers 2. The decision proved to be unpopular and saw the game review-bombed.

One reason for the community outrage was that many countries and regions without PSN services risked being blocked from the game. While Sony reverted its decision, the worst fears came true, as 180 countries without PSN services could no longer play the game.
Ghost of Tsushima Outshines Helldivers 2 on PlayStation Despite Critics’ Attempt to Boycott the Game Due to PSN Requirements
Despite the massive backlash, Sony has again forced players to link their PSN accounts to playGhost of Tsushima. This makes sense, considering that the title is originally a PlayStation 4 game that also needed a PSN account. However, Sony’s decision has led to the same 180 countries and regions being locked out from purchasing and enjoying the game, even the single-player aspect.
Currently,Ghost of Tsushimahas areview score of 84.02%, with 8,232 positive reviews and 1,289 negative reviews. Most of the negative reviews are critical of Sony’s decision to link PSN accounts.

180 Countries Can’t Play Ghost of Tushsima Thanks to Sony’s Decision
It’s surprising to see Sony pushing this hard for players to link their PSN account in a game that’s known for its acclaimed story, not multiplayer. If account-linking is only required for the game’s multiplayer aspect, Sony should’ve released a cheaper version without it instead of removing the game from multiple countries and regions.
Sony’s actions have completely wrecked the launch of such an anticipated release. There are no signs that the company will back down regarding PSN linking requirements for its exclusive titles on PC. With players being forced to use multiple launchers to play games these days, it’s understandable that gamers don’t want another requirement to interrupt their experience.

WhileGhost of Tsushimahas a multiplayer aspect to justify Sony’s decision to link the PSN account, it’s yet to be seen if they’ll try doing the same thing for theupcoming God of War Ragnarok PC portor the seemingly inevitable ports of Final Fantasy 7; Rebirth or Marvel’s Spider-Man 2, as they’re completely single-player games.
