One Piece has many iconic characters. This includes members of the Marines, the many different pirate groups, the Seven Warlords of the Sea, theEmperors of the Sea, the various World Leaders, and other smaller factions that the Straw Hats have encountered. One of the newest factions entering the anime is Cross Guild.
Anime Characters Who Stood Their Ground
There are plenty of tough anime characters, but it takes real guts to stand your ground. These characters stood their ground to, sometimes to the end.
Cross Guild is a faction that has been formed through the alliance of Crocodile, Buggy The Clown, and Dracule Mihawk. All of which are former Warlords of the Sea. However, Buggy is the only one of the three with the title of Emperor of the Sea.
Current Bounty: 1,965,000,000 Berry
While it is stated by Kid that the poster makes Crocodile and Mihawkseem like underlingsto Buggy, especially with Buggy having the most prominent title of the three, thegoal of Cross Guildis mostly that of Crocodile’s main ambition. Crocodile made his original appearanceback in the Arabasta Sagaof the series, where he acted as the leader ofBaroque Works. It is during this time he put into motionOperation Utopia.
This operation was designed for him to get his hands on theancient weapon Plutothrough the death of Nefertari Cobera and usurping thethrone of Arabastafor himself. With Pluton, he would be able to overthrow the World Government andcreate his interpretation of a Utopia. However, Luffy would put an end to this plan in one ofhis most intense and memorable fights. Crocodile is one of thefounding members of Cross Guild, along with Dracule Mihawk.
Buggy The Clown

Buggy wasone of the first villainsever introduced in One Piece. He starts off in East Blue and the story has shown his steadygrowth in powerfrom a simple pirate captain to commanding his own fleet as aWarlord of the Sea, all the way to him being named anEmperor of the Sea. Buggy wouldlose his title of Warlord of the Seaduring the abolition of the Seven Warlords of the Sea system that the World Government had in place. It was during this time that he was able tobecome the head of Cross Guild— even though he wasnot a founding memberof the organization.

One piece would be nothing without its pirates, and these are some of the most infamous around.
He was able to claim the head position thanks toconfusion among crewmates— both Buggy and Usopp have a long-running history of unexpected best-case scenarios falling into their laps. Once Buggy became the leader of Cross Guild, the World Government elevated his title to that ofan Emperor of the Sea. Despite all this, all the true inner workings of Cross Guild areconducted by Crocodile and Mihawk, with Buggy merely acting as aform of figureheadand face of the organization due to his high charisma and ability to sway others to his causes.
Dracule Mihawk

Dracule Mihawk is regarded as thegreatest swordsman in the worldand has served as the primary character forRonoa Zoro to surpass. He would make his debut in East Blue, where he wouldsignificantly outclass Zoroto show the gap between their strengths. Before the events of the timeskip, he would serve as themaster for Ronoa Zoroin preparing him for the New World. Dracule Mihawk has never had much of a villainous aura, despite clearly havingties to the Pirate world—such as his rivalry with Shanksand being a high bounty target of the Marines. Like Crocodile, he isone of the founding members of Cross Guild.
What Is Cross Guild

Cross guild is an exceptionally powerful organizationwith atotal bounty of 8,848,000,000 Berryamong its various members — which serves as thehighest bounty among any organizationin the entirety of One Piece at the time. The Jolly Rodger for the organization is mostlyinspired by Buggy the Clown, who serves as the acting leader of the group. The organization started as areverse Marines, in that they would place bounties on the heads of marines for pirates to claim.
However,marked Marinesare not just at risk of being targeted by pirates, but alsoBounty Hunters and even the civiliansthat they have sworn to protect. The Wanted posters forCross Guild use a symbol-based systemthat iscomprised of Stars and Crowns. For each Star on the wanted posted, the one claiming the bounty gets100,000,000 Berry, while each crown will fetch them1,000,000,000 Berry— this means that a Marine soldier with a 3-star bounty will pay out 300,000,000 Berry.
The number of Stars and Crowns isnot based solely on a Marine’s rank, but also any notable accomplishments and/or popularity they have among the people or other Marines. Some notable exceptions areVice Admiral Garp, who has a bounty comparable to that of an Admiral. As well as Koby,who has a total bounty of 5 Starsfrom all that he has accomplished in his time with the Marines.
