Luffy’s journey to become the King of the Pirates has been one of the hot topics for the last 25 years. Eiichiro Oda has been doing an incredible job with the manga and often releases beautiful colorspreads of his magnum opus.
The latest colorspread ofOne Piecewas loved by fans and subtlely hinted at one of the most popular franchises in the world. The spread saw the Straw Hats flying with the help of a broomstick, which reminded fans ofHarry Potter. There were also different-colored ties that resembled the different houses in Hogwarts.
The Straw Hats Changed Their Pirating Ways To Become Wizards
The most recentOne Piececolor spread went viral on social media after it had matching details from Harry Potter. The page featured the Straw Hat Pirates flying separate broomsticks like the flying broomsticks inHarry Potter. Instead of wearing their normal day attire, they were wearing uniforms and long coats resembling the wizard school. The most striking feature was the detailing of the ties they were wearing.

Hogwarts has four houses, Gryffindor, Ravenclaw, Hufflepuff, and Slytherin, and each house can be identified either by the coat or by its ties. Gryffindor has a blue and red shade tie, while Slytherin has sea green ties. In the same manner,Monkey D. Luffyand Nami’s tie resembled Gryffindor, Nico Robin looked as if she belonged to Slytherin, Sanji was from Ravenclaw, and Usopp’s tie matched Hufflepuff. As for the others, go, their ties were not clearly visible.
Even though there was no mention ofOne Piecehaving a crossover with Harry Potter, the fans were quite excited to see Oda sensei change the Straw Hats from pirates to wizards. Each member is assigned a house according to their personality, and it is fair to say the mangaka did his homework before supposedly assigning them to the different houses. The most iconic thing is that while everyone is riding a broomstick, Jinbe is riding a dragon.

During the initial years, the colorspreads were simple, but after the Straw Hat Pirates entered the New World, the designs changed. They had a change in attire in almost every release. Apart from that, there have been multiple incidents whereEiichiro Odahas paid tribute to other anime franchises and added details to colorspreads to pay tribute to them.

While there has been no news about aOne PieceandHarry Pottercrossover, the fans are always speculating something. It would be great to see the characters try wizardry for the first time. Luffy in Gryffindor seems appropriate due to showcasing bravery and helping others in need. However, Hermione and Ron might face problems if Luffy starts doing shenanigans with his magic wand. Moreover, only the Straw Hat members can control him.
