Following the release of Chapter 1086 last month,One Piecehas been on a month-long hiatus. The series took a break due to Eiichiro Oda’s health issues, as the writer had to go through eye surgery due to the astigmatism issue he has been facing for a long time. The eye condition blurred his vision and made it hard for the writer to craft the chapters for us.
Although the break was indeed a long one, it was necessary to ensure the well-being of Oda’s health. A special apology note was also shared by the One Piece team, which was received positively by fans, and they supported Oda’s decision and wished for his good health.

After the month-long hiatus, One Piece will now return on Sunday, July 16th. And, as usual, spoilers for the upcoming chapter have emerged online before the chapter’s official release and they hint at some exciting developments further in the story, most notably, Garp vs. Kuzan. The detailed spoilers are not yet out, but here are the initial spoilers for the new installment.
One Piece Chapter 1087 Spoilers
According to the spoilers, the new chapter will take place in Hachinosu, where fans will be treated to a battle between Garp and Kuzan of the Blackbeard Pirates. During the battle, we will see a brief flashback from Kuzan’s childhood, training with Garp, showcasing the difference in their childhood bond and where they stand now, thirsty for each other’s blood. During the training, they use battleships as boxing sandbags.
Back in the present day, Garp is stabbed by Shiryu when the former defends Koby. Against whom Garp defends him is not clearly mentioned, but maybe he was defending him against Shiryu himself. The battle between Garp and Kuzan continues, and the two punch each other in the face directly with a powerful Haki attack, causing a massive explosion. While both take severe damage from the attack, Garp is clearly overpowered by Kuzan’s formidable power.
The end of the chapter will see Garp lying on the floor following the aftermath of the attack, yet still confident in their win. He tells Koby not to worry, as no matter what happens, justice will still prevail. The spoilers also reveal that, in the coming week, a color spread will be shared for One Piece to celebrate its 26th anniversary. Additionally, the spoilers don’t mention any break for the next installment.
