Eiichiro Oda loves spinning mysteries upon mysteries inOne Piece. His favorite hobby might be hiding Easter Eggs in the story, which are so subtle that fans can detect it only once it’s too late.

However, one fan theory might have already debunked an upcoming twist that Eiichiro Oda wants to introduce to the story. As the series is edging towards its finale, a character might betray Luffy, and he is hiding in plain sight.
Sanji’s Eerie Similarity to SomeOne PieceCharacters Suggest Eiichiro Oda Might be Cooking Something
One Piecefans have noticed an eerie similarity betweenSanjiand a few other characters in the series. The resemblance is the presence of a skull symbol on the outfits of Shiryu, Katakuri, King, Boa Hancock, Prince Loki, and Sanji.
Eiichiro Oda’s Final Plan to Kill a Straw Hat Before One Piece Ends isn’t Zoro or Sanji – The Most Unexpected Death Revealed in New Theory
King has a gold skull emblem placed as a patch on his black jacket. Katakuri has a skull symbol on his black belt. Shiryu has skulls on his World Government uniform. Boa Hancock has skulls on a few of her outfits. Prince Loki also has a similar skull on his outfit. But the only time Sanji sports a skull is when he has his black Raid Suit on.
Now, let’s look at the similarities between the characters, as all of them have a similar theme of betrayal attached to them.Shiryuwas initially an ex-Head Jailor of Impel Down who was imprisoned due to his murderous violence against prisoners. When he was temporarily released to help Magellan, he chose to assist the Blackbeard Pirates instead. He eventually betrayed the World Government and chose to join Blackbeard.

Charlotte Katakuriwas a secondary antagonist in the Whole Cake Island arc, but he later became a reluctant ally of the Red Hair Pirates and the Straw Hats. Similarly,Boa Hancock was also antagonistictowards Luffy at first, but she later fell in love with him and helped him infiltrate Impel Down. Despite being a Warlord of the Sea, she sided with Luffy during the Marineford arc.
The One Piece Character Eiichiro Oda Wants to Unlock Conqueror’s Haki Next isn’t Sanji (Theory)
King, on the other hand, has always been loyal to Kaido but has no qualms about betraying allies, especially if doing so helps Kaido. Prince Loki betrayed his father by killing him and obtaining a Devil Fruit because of his desperate desire.
While all the characters have different goals, they have a similar theme of betrayal attached to them in some way or another. Thus, afan theorysuggests that Sanji might also betray Luffy in One Piece since he has worn the skull symbol.

Sanji Might be the Straw Hat Who Will Betray Luffy inOne Piece
The theme of betrayal has been pretty prevalent inOne Piece. From Crocodile’s reveal, Aokiji siding with Blackbeard, to the events of Egghead Island, One Piece has several characters who are turncoats. Thus, it has been a longstanding speculation that one of the Straw Hats might betray Luffy at a crucial point.
Many theories suggest that it could beZoro since he used to be a pirate hunter, after all. In contrast, others call out Nami and Nico Robin. But if the skull symbol fan theory turns out to be true, Sanji will be the one to helm the crown of a traitor. Sanji has already betrayed Luffy once because he was forced to get married and thus left the crew. He had a scuffle with Luffy but it was to protect the crew from Big Mom.

But what if Sanji still holds grudges and holds Luffy responsible for some failure? Even if Sanji does betray the Straw Hats, Luffy would be unwilling to fight him, as witnessed in the Whole Cake Island arc. This could prove advantageous to Sanji since he wouldn’t even have to use his full strength, and Luffy would be hurt enough not to function properly.
