Rumors have been circulating about more Directs in the near future, ones that will hopefully flesh out the Switch 2’s bare schedule.

Despite the lack of news, Hollow Knight: Silksong development is progressing well.

In a surprise move, Nintendo of America announced on its Twitter/X account thatan Indie World Showcaseis being held on August 7 at 6:00 AM PT/9:00 AM ET/2:00 PM BST. The event can be watched on the official Nintendo YouTube channels.

Has Silksong’s Time Finally Arrived?

Fans have been asking when Hollow Knight: Silksong will be appearing at a Nintendo Direct (or similar event) for a long time now, and they keep getting sent home disappointed by the lack of Team Cherry’s long-awaited game.

So, why should August 2025 be any different? For one thing, Hollow Knight: Silksongwill have a playable demoat Gamescom 2025, suggesting that the game is far along in development and will soon be ready to ship.

Outside of Hollow Knight: Silksong, fans are also hoping for a showing from Witchbrook, the magical life-sim from the creator ofStardew Valley, and maybe even a final release date forHades 2, as the game is ready to leave Early Access.

Hollow Knight: Silksong fans have turned up for each of these big shows, and each time, they’ve been happy with even thebarest crumbs of news. Perhaps August 7 is the day when the pain finally ends and the game finally has the release date that players have been waiting for since 2019.
