The game doesn’t do the best job of explaining this part of the game, and it’s easy to get confused. There are two ways to upgrade your Workbench: Augmentations and better variants of the Workbench. Both methods add new and better recipes for tools that players can unlock. Here’s what you need to know to get started.

How To Apply Augmentations
The main way to get the ability to make new items in Nightingale is to use Augments to give your Workbench the ability to make new recipes. Unfortunately, this part of the game isn’t explained very well, and it’s easy to mess up and make a mistake. Applying Augments is simple.
Once the Augmentation is built, you’ll be able to craft new items on your Workbench.Remember that you’ll need to get the recipes separately to craft new items.Look for the recipes at Essence Traders or be exploring points of interest in new realms.
To get all Augments to work, build multiple Workbenches and augment them with different Augmentations. You’ll need to build a separate room for each Workbench to avoid overlap.
How To Get Refined & Excellent Workbench
To get a better variant of the Workbench - and other crafting stations - you’ll need to head tohigher-tier realms. Better variants offer better default recipes. The tutorial will lead you to the Abeyance Realm and use that as a base of operations to higher-tier realms.
