Last year, reports confirmed that Marvel Studios would take a step back to scrap the initial premise to work on the story once again for the upcoming series. However, the scrapped story leaked on the Internet (viaComicBookMovie.com) which focused on Charlie Cox’s Matt Murdock defending a vigilante named Hector Ayala. The storyline titled,“The Trial of White Tiger”as per the leak is given below.
“It would’ve focused on Matt taking on Hector Ayala as a client after he stopped a mugging. It turns out the mugging he stopped was actually some corrupt cops who were trying to silence an informant before he could get to trial. One of the police officers accidentally dies in the process, leaving Hector labeled as a cop-killer.”
This event involved two corrupt officers, one of whom ended up losing his life. This is quite similar to the comic event,DaredevilVol. 2 #38-40 where Murdock attempts to aid Ayala however that rumor came shortly before Disney announced a creative reboot. The new series doesn’t have a release date as of yet however, Vincent D’Onofrio has given a new hope by sharing that the production might happen soon.
