The game’s promised ability to offer stealth or direct-combat, coupled with big narrative choices in a mysteriouscyberpunksetting certainly gives off heavy Deus Ex vibes. And the strong focus on explosive gunplay with dive attacks and slo-mo will give strong impressions to Max Payne fans - but will New Berlin 2087 live up to those expectations?
Some are skeptical - and the trailer didn’t do many favors for the game. Graphically, the game looks great; it captures that cyberpunk style very well. Where it seems to struggle a bit more is in capturing humanity. The delivery on the trailer’s opening line - a run-on sentence on things you already know about black holes - had me wanting to inhale by proxy. Breathe, girl!
